Job Summary

The Datacenter Engineer will be responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of their assigned Datacenter. You will plan, schedule, predict, and manage all the technical tasks as it relates to smooth running of the datacenter.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform routine administration and maintenance of the CUSTOMER Data Centre facilities under its
• control
• The supplier shall be responsible for establishing and maintaining a properly trained and adequately
• staffed data centre population, including the necessary management and support staff. Training plan
• must exist and evidence of adherence provided yearly.
• Manage access control of the data centre and remote computer rooms in accordance with CUSTOMER
• security principles, policies and guidelines.
• Ensure that all products and tools that support live operations comply with the defined technical
• standards, policies and procedures, and with government regulations.
• Run the data center in a manner that consistent with CUSTOMER Disaster Recovery Policies, including
• supporting necessary drills as required by CUSTOMER.
• Pro-actively inform CUSTOMER if the operational environment in the Data Centre is unsuitable and
• action is required.
• Manage access control of the data centres and remote computer rooms in accordance with CUSTOMER
• security principles, policies and guidelines.
• Manage the data center in line with Group Information Security Policies (GISP) and other CUSTOMER
• security prescripts.
• Maintain a stable live Data Centre environment in order to achieve the applicable service level
• Cable labelling and connectivity diagrams (e.g. Power, E1, LAN point) should be updated monthly, and
• such a document should be made available where CUSTOMER shall have unfettered access.
• Developing and maintaining physical configuration plan for the infrastructure assets and ensuring that
• connectivity is managed in manner that eliminates single point of failures and promotes service
• availability.
• Physically manage the facilities in line with industry best practices and customer guidelines (ISO and
• DCIM standards).
• Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures
• Items in-scope shall include all infrastructure elements and systems contained within the Data Centre
• related to the services in-scope defined above
• Manage, coordinate equipment installation, movements, decommissioning and alterations of Data
• Centre infrastructure
• Capacity management of datacentre facilities.
• Conduct physical equipment moves between datacentres as required.
• Manage monitoring of power/cooling for the facilities.
• Implement effective energy management schemes to reduce environmental costs.
• Execute IT project related activities based on internal IT requirements for OPCOs.
• Data center operators to manage and monitor data centers 24 X 7
Qualification and Experience • A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification is recommended.
• Minimum of 3 year of work experience
• Familiarization with computer terminologies, Electrical Power standards, Cabling, UPS management etc.
• Excellent knowledge of ITIL processes
• Knowledge on System and Server Administration, Linux, Networking and Network Security
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards as it relates to Datacenter Management
• Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
• Ability to work extra hours
• Decision making ability and leadership skills
• Time management and organization skills
